Meet Nigeria's new President

Muhamadu Buhari, GCFR, was born on the 17th of december 1942 in Daura present day Katsina state. He is a retired major general in the Nigerian army and one time head of state of Nigeria from 31st December 1983 to 27th August 1985 after taking power in a military coup d' etat. He was one time chairman of the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund.
    He ran unsuccessfully for the office of the president in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 elections. Buhari won the 2015 general election defeating the incumbent president Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan. Today, he is being inaugurated as the new president of the federal republic of Nigeria, thereby breaking the jinx of defeating an incumbent president since Nigeria embraced democracy in 1999. We wish him a peacefull and successful reign.
